  1. I lived in San Diego for a couple years. This was and still is very memorable to me. I have a photographic memory of things I did and done. I will always carry it in my heart. My everlasting poem…..

  2. I am fortunate to live in San Diego, next to Balboa Park. I take my ebike, to the locations you're looking at on this post. And yes it is as Beautiful as it is on this post.
    This place is Paradise.

  3. You were smart to leave out the Zoo which deserves its own video (or more). That said grasshopper, your biggest miss was the bar/food/music scene. El Prado Restaurant is — maybe the fourth best restaurant in the park (not counting Albert's in the Zoo — the El Prado would be 5th). Panama 66 in the Museum of Art is an amazing food and music scene with live jazz and big band music many nights of the week. Artifact in the Mingei is part of their recent $50mm renovation and is a great place to eat. WorldBeat Cafe is a wonderful option for vegans who want international dishes.

Other major misses were the Cabrillo Bridge, the official entrance to the Park (and the gateway to San Diego's amazing pedestrian suspension bridges). The California Tower, with its guided tours, also deserved some time as it is the park's most notable landmark.

More obscure things would be the San Diego Jr. Theater in Casa Del Prado, the retired nudist colony that is Zoro Garden, the Moreton Bay Fig Tree, the Spanish Village Art Center and the Marston House. The Balboa Tennis Center that hosts spillover matches for the Billie Jean King National Championships for 16- and 18-year-olds in August. Balboa Park's dirt trails are a popular site for the of Footlocker National Cross County Championships each year.

Did I mention that Balboa Park has great free WiFi?

  4. Thank you. That's a good sampling of Balboa Park. I've been looking for a program to share with a friend who's never been to San Diego. I grew up at Spruce and Second, and walked home from SDHS through the park daily when I was young.

  5. Thank you. That's a good sampling of Balbos Park. I've been looking for a good, short (ten min), program to share with a friend who's never been to San Diego. I grew up at Spruce and Second, and walked home from SDHS through the park each day when I was a teenager.
