I have a secret…the reason they closed the stair way entrance to outside that is in the main gambling area (probably long gone now) was because my dad came in that way in 2016 (I think) and also tried going out that way but only the reverse escalator worked. It was going at some super speed as well and I barely made it running up. My dad almost made it even at age 65 but fell and I tried grabbing his hand but couldnt pull him up. It was a whole spectacle and Im shocked security didn't get us when we got back down, although we booked it out there. I remember so many staring up at us when we were doing it too. The next day it was all blocked off haha and forever on. I'm talking about the escalator you could take from outside to the inside back up until the mid 2010's. If anyone went to Vegas around this time and remember it being opened then closed, my dad and I were the reason haha. They had likely planned on destroying it anyways since it was mostly blocked off already.
