I visited SF in the 60's I was about 9 years old my Uncle who lived in Santa Cruz took us there and I remember seeing all the people on the streets dancing,playing the guitar and singing,my Uncle said don't go near them they are hippies. A hippie girl gave me a flower (a real flower) and I whispered to my mom "I like hippies" 😊. San Francisco was a dream place to me – I loved it all.

If you dont make six figures no point in living here. Everything is expensive as hell. Too much vagrants and homeless drug addicts in the most expensive city in America.. Why the city dont bus these miscreants out of the city is questionable.

Watching this in 2026, I wonder that Middle Eastern looking dude who sells all those Trump crap, I wonder if he's still in the country or maybe the ICE thugs got him hidden at some of the camps. And those two Latina looking ladies at 14:12, I wonder if their relatives are still with them or not. 😂
the city is dead, no one on the streets downtown or anywhere else. The only streets full of people are in the tenderloin and south of market-homeless, alcoholics, and junkies-that's the real SF.
I'd be curious to hear from other residents: do you feel the city is finally turning a corner, or are these improvements just a surface-level fix? Really interesting to see the different perspectives in one video.
I missed going to San Francisco; the car break-in is holding me back. I know it’s getting better. I might start going back there and enjoy this beautiful city sooner.

I am energy sensitive and back when I visited in 2002, the energy was FIRE! So much fun riding on the trolleys also.
I wrote a huge comment long time ago dont know if I ppl posted it or not but I love watching your videos and you remind me so much of my dad, he had me when I was real young he was only like 19 and really just trips me out how much you remind me of him like the way you look and sound, probably alot younger then him but its crazy he died recently and nothing has brought him to my mind until I clicked on one of these videos and looked 2x as what or who i was watching. Of course everyone's individual and unique but crazy how similar someone can be to a stranger….. small world really

I lived in the city in the '80's and '90's. Lived in The Haight, Lower Haight, Lower Pac Heights, Cole Valley, The Mission, off the Panhandle… I liked hearing people's opinions of how it is today. Back in the day it was amazing–so much amazing art and music…so many venues to perform. I am lucky to have lived there for so long and in that time period AND>>>>> I do believe SF is going to come back in a major way. I was teaching a printmaking class about a month ago there and ALL the billboards were for AI companies which made me puke but life keeps changing. I love the Presidio, Baker's beach (used to be a naked beach), always love the Mission. I loved running down the whole panhandle down to the beach and back–what an amazing run that was. God bless to all. SF rules!
So many great things to say about this video but I want to emphasize the quality of the interaction around 40-45’, I would love to listen to more in depth discussions like this that really allow to take a big step back, going more in depth on a topic
I feel like he is kind of an archetype of your audience, even if like on any subject you can’t put a label and there’s granularity and so you were able to build a deep collective reflexion together
But still the conversation was very stimulating to listen to in my opinion
Have you ever thought about having some podcast, maybe on a specific topic, with some people of this type if I can say ?

Live in East Bay for 14 years. I was last in SF in 2023, Summer I think. I COULD NOT believe how clean downtown was. I stayed on Market St. not far from the Civic Center which usually would have been a total disaster, crack in the streets and all manner of homelessness. It did make me wonder what the hell the city "did" with all of the homeless. I guess they put them in hotels…? Whatever it is, I hope it's sustainable and I hope it's not just making people's lives even worse…

I love the way Americans actually engage with and talk to each other. Even their police officers are friendly. It's the complete opposite of the UK today.
