  1. My advice treat Manhattan in sections. Soho, world trade center Chinatown little italy. Etc…one year girls trip went to Ellis Island, tenement museum and Katz deli. Then next day work your way north Soho and Greenwich village. We had a yearly tradition for 11 years rented Airbnb apartments. Since covid never went back again. Not happy with crime situation. I am a native new Yorker live in the free state of fla. Girls trip this year Sicily

  2. The biggest mistake I made was buying the high-priced hop on hop off bus ticket. Wasted valuable hours waiting for the bus to return from Bangladesh. Discovered cabs are the fastest, most fun and economical.

  3. I live In new York and the subway is very dangerous no matter what time your on it for real the subway is a death trap bumbs stink up the whole train and drug addicted people it’s nasty all day every day

  4. NEVER EVER!! Eat at a corporate restaurant (Olive Garden, Chili's, Applebee's, etc). NYC is a food capital. Eat food you can't get in Kansas. And for the love of God, stop looking at your phone.

  5. I went to Coppola's Italian restaurant down by 28th or 27th Street and 3rd Ave . A actor named James Cagney who was born in 1899-1986 was born in Eastside NY and played in Sinners Holiday and Public enemy in 1931 , Yankee Doodle Dandy , Run for Cover, etc James Cagney won a Emmy for Yankee Doodle Dandy George M Cohan's life. James Cagney lived in Dutches County,NY 90 miles N of NYC. James Cagney would take family/friends to Coppola's when they were in town including John Trolvolta and Michael J Fox . I went to This restaurant and had the best time ever! Anyone who goes to NYC needs to go here if they have time to experience something new.

  6. Oh boy! The reason why some carriages are empty and others full… Air conditioning!! I have never seat as much as in a NYC Subway carriage with no air conditioning. It was a sauna!! But at the time, I needed to be sat down. But, never again!

  7. As a native New Yorker keep your eyes open but avoid eye contact, don't carry a lot of cash, dress dress down American style (Ditch the soccer warn up clothes, any bling and the fancy Italian shoes!) the subways can be a dangerous place especially after the evening rush hour and especially outside of Manhattan as there is one level of police protection for the people with money in Manhattan and another for the rest of the city. Also do not trust any stranger that suddenly approaches you no matter what. Try to avoid going mid June through early September as the summers can get brutally hot and humid and teenaged hoodlums are out from school looking for trouble increasing your chances of bad shit going down.
