Don’t leave your rental car parked with your luggage anywhere. Check it into your hotel to keep it safe
nob hill or the castro is the funniest sf neighborhood name
Great information thank you!
I have a suggestion….don't go there.
DON'T go to San Francisco
you may hammer sourdough bread but I have to say if you get a sandwich, get the dutch crunch! I didnt encounter it on the east coast and its a quite the staple in the bay
Hey thank you for the video. My wife and I are planning a 3 day trip in May to SF. Do you r3commend that we take the hop on and off bus tour and see other parts of the city?
Automous (driverless) cars are prevalent all over town. I love the city and have great memories living there 2x and near by for 30 years.
Thank you for emphasizing the beauty and safety of our wonderful city. The press paints it like Dante’s Inferno so your comments are much appreciated.
Lifelong Bay Area resident here. I really enjoyed the video and want to add a few things. 1) September and October are the best months to visit SF. This is “summer” in The City. There is generally the least amount of fog and the warmest weather; places are less crowded as it’s after vacation season. 2) There are usually a lot more sea lions at Pier 39 in winter than in summer as the seals come into the calmer waters of the bay. 3) Grant Avenue and Stockton Street in Chinatown run parallel to each other one block apart, but are worlds apart. Grant Avenue is very tourist oriented, whereas Stockton Street caters to locals with produce and fish markets . Both are worth seeing, but stick to Stockton, and the cross streets between Stockton and Grant, for dining. 4) Advance reservations well ahead of time are a must for Muir Woods and Alcatraz, particularly in summer. An alternative to Muir Woods is Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Preserve in Sonoma County. No reservations are needed, although it can get crowded on summer weekends. It’s about an hour and a half drive north of the Golden Gate Bridge and, in addition, there are number of wineries and tasting rooms in the area.
About the GG Bridge, there are 2 paths to cross the bridge: the west path (ocean side) is for bikes, and the east path (bay side) is for pedestrians. Also, if you visit Ocean Beach, do not turn your back on the Ocean, or a sneaker wave could sweep you out to sea, especially near the Golden Gate. The best food is in North Beach, Chinatown, or the Mission.
Why does tha Narrator's huge body often covers the whole screen?..
Why a lot of talk about food?..
Aren't there more interesting things to do in SF?
As a 73 year old City of Saint Francis native daughter, I have so much gratitude to you that your #1 is NEVER call my beautiful city F****o….my mama
didn't have many rules, but her #1 was never let that leave my lips, and so I wont even type it.
I grew up a free range child in the 50s and 60s in the Height- Ashbury; with Golden Gate Park as my backyard. I was allowed to walk, roller skate, and bike every where. The Aquarium was free, DeYoung Museum was free, Tea Garden was free, Zoo free as well. Oh and Playland at the Beach was a spectacular play ground…. yes and the 60s were magical.
Still in my family's home at the beach. I'm so blessed. Yes we have homeless and addicted street people, but hopefilly we can find solutions now [after latest election] that are done with care and win-win for all who live and visit here.
My grandparents lived in the tenderloin, and I also spent time there. I so hope it can come back to be the great family neighborhood it used to be.
The H in Ghirardelli is silent. You put a positive spin on a troubled city. It is a shadow of the great city it was. Unfortunately, much more unsafe than you dipict. I'm a fan of your enjoyable videos!
Nice place to Visit, but you've heard about living here … 😉
Hi love your vids. As i will be doing an overnighter on my cruise, is there anything/anywhere you could suggest to do or see?
Born and raised in The City, my tip is to eat and buy your hoodies/gifts in Chinatown. You will save lots of money. A no brainer is to pack wicking layers/rain shell and some water to save more money… SF isn't scary like the news claims or is crazy expensive and can be very walkable… Best place to take pictures is Palace of Fine Arts Presidio and Crissy Field… Go Niners!
First Tuesday of the month De Young and Legion of Honor are free and get the pass for the gardens at Golden Gate Park. It’s good for 3 days. And the botanical garden is worth going more than once.
Couple of things He’s right about driving in SF it sucks and no parking, BUT walking the GG is not that bad it’s 3 miles to and from
I have lived in San Francisco for 55 years. Fisherman's Wharf is GARBAGE. It's an example of places NOT to visit, like Times Square in NYC and Navy Pier in Chicago. Visit if you want an example of what NOT to visit.
Different neighborhoods for Chinese food in San Francisco: Clement Street in the Richmond, Irving and Noriega Streets in the Sunset. You mentioned "the main street in Chinatown." That's Grant. You are better off looking one block to the west, on Stockton, for food, or on the east/west streets that connect Grant and Stockton.
We very definitely have world class museums. Thanks for mentioning those!
I love your location at 15:40, in Mission Dolores Park. It's just two blocks from where I live.
A very important DON'T for Muir Woods: don't go there without reserving a parking place in advance!
Visited SF in November and loved it, weather was fantastic.
Didn't find it too expensive although I'm from Edinburgh so used to high prices.
Really informative vlog👍🏻
Love love the sourdough bread..it has been the same for centuries.
Es ist eine kranke Stadt. Menschen sterben auf der Straße, zum Himmel! Wie kannst du das überhaupt Touristen empfehlen?
Market Street Theatre rocks!
Clement St in Richmond also has some great Chinese Food…its like a second Chinatown. Also, the walk around the Cliff House, around the bath houses and Sutro Park provide great views. And not to far from Golden Gate Park! 😅
Driving down Lombard is easy and fun. Dont drive a caddy down but any car is fine. Driving on Columbus is cool too
The tenderloin has been the skidrow since i was a kid in the 70s and 80s. Nothing new about that place. SFO is great for biking and skateboarding. You get a great workout! 😂
Is #1; not to go there in the first place?
Take a food tour in the mission too. SF has a long proud connection to Mexico and the people.
Muir Woods is gorgeous, but a little hassle, as you have to take a tour bus from a parking lot in Marin and ride in. Adds a lot of time, but it’s amazing.
For the cable car, get on on top of the hills or in the endpoint stops, and ride back down. There is little to no lines.
