Where will you choose to stay in LA?
im going to LA in november planning to stay Downtown near lakers arena .
Great video!!
You didn't mention the budget for the potential visitors.
There are plenty of delicious restaurants in Hollywood, like L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, Motherwolf, La Nena, Sugarfish, Lemon Grove, just to name a few.
Heading to Hollywood on the 11th of April, staying at the Whiskey Hotel for a few days as part of our road trip, then driving to Pismo then Cisco for 5 ish days then back to west Hollywood b4 flying home……how is the Whiskey Hotel.?
I’m staying at Loews Hollywood for two nights prior to my cruise. Thanks for a great video. Do you know how long it takes from Loews to the San Pedro cruise terminal.
South Bay beach cities
What would you all to suggest for first timer for 2-3 days in LA where should i be staying that is not so heavy on pocket plus can view recommend attractions?
We really love staying in el segundo. It's close to the airport but downtown el segundo is such a nice area with breweries and good restaurants. It's so chilled, it's also close to Manhattan beach which is another really nice area. Underrated areas that never really get mentioned lol
I’m planning on going to LA for my first time in May. I’m staying near the Forum so hopefully I can explore a lot of places within a week’s stay
I just got back from my first non-work trip. This video is super spot on if want a lay of the land – I just did most of what is on here (minus the expensive Hotel). All good advice – I agree that choosing a Hotel (especially a nice pool area) is a big part of the experience but I love that you highlight Day Passes which is a great value compared to $400+ a night. Determining your "base camp" really matters. Hollywood is a good value. My only feedback is that a bit more mention of Public Transit would be helpful. LA Metro is actually pretty good and CHEAP – You can go from Hollywood to Santa Monica for $1.75. Or LAX. The cheap shuttle up to Griffith Observatory from the Santa Monica/Vermont Metro is great. I live in SF and I was really impressed.
As a first time visit to LA we choose to stay in Glendale. Its close to most attractions in Hollywood but still very quiet neighborhood.
Thanks for the useful video. I'm going to LA for the first time on December 10th for a week. I think I have a better handle on what to see after watching your video.
Fantastic video many thanks
Hi Michael! Thank you for this video and for all your effort. I’d love to get your opinion if possible: I’m planning to travel to L.A. with my fiancée from December 27 to January 2, 2025. It’s my birthday, and we’d like to see the Lakers, visit Universal Studios, and get a taste of everything without rushing around too much.
Is there an area you’d recommend staying in? I was thinking about West Hollywood or Downtown, but I’m having a hard time deciding. In general, we enjoy walking around, grabbing coffee and casual meals, visiting museums or expos, and attending events.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for this, Michael. Very informative.
