Will visit this places soon
I used to visit Admiral Jim Stockdale and wife Sybil off Orange Ave Admiral Jim was highest ranking officer 5yrs as POW in Hanoi Hilton prison in no Vietnam Jim was a wonderful friend to me in our Medal of Honor gatherings
I lived on A Ave. in 1983/84 and this video made me nostalgic, for sure. Wonderful area if you can afford it !
Go islanders
I grew up on Coronado during the 60’s and 70’s, back then it was just a small navy town with lots of retired and active duty military. Fun place to grow up
I was temporarily stationed at the Coronado amphib base in1970 June July August, navy, was a fun time in my life.
God lives on Coronado Beach❤
The Del needs a remodel inside get rid of the wallpaper and widend the hallways
Just went there recently. Silver Strand Beach is gorgeous. There is a seriously conservative vibe here though. It’s not a happy one. We left early.
"no concrete evidence of ghosts" I see what you did there.
FYI The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum was published in 1900 in Chicago. Four years later Baum and his wife left Chicago to spend their winters in Coronado. He did continue to add more books to the Oz series which he wrote in Coronado, but not the original book everyone has come to love.
If you pause at the :34 second mark and zoom in to the military base at the end of the silver strand, you will notice a building in the shape of a swastika sign.
My husband and I love Coronado. He moved from Texas and his job paid for his apartment on Coronado. So we basically had most our dates there and he proposed to me there too. When I first moved there, every weekend I rode my bike around Coronado. I loved looking at the beautiful houses. Coronado is a special place still after 25 years later
Great summary. I loved my two years there.
Disclaimer : it's all expensive. Hotel Del is almost 1k a night. But as long at your just 'visiting' it shouldnt be too expensive. Just don't go there excpecting to be able to do EVERYTHING
Awesome video! I’m a California Girl but never explored Coronado. I’m inspired now to go & use your video as a guide. Thank you so much for sharing & creating this video. I’m looking forward for more upload on our beautiful Golden State, California.🙏🏽👍🏽💗💯
Work on the hotel del for two in half year they just redid the whole front of the build an couple other building trying to make it like it was in the 60s
The only place like the united states in ALL OF CALIFORNIA. THE BEST PART OF CALIFORNIA.
Great job showing off its beauty
My grandma lives in Coronado. In fact, I am visiting her right now as I'm watching this. I call Coronado the land of millionaires and grandparents, because those are the only people that can live here. If you can afford to visit Coronado, I would recommend seeing the Del during Christmas. They put up a huge tree in the lobby and cover the roof in lights. It's pretty cool. Of course, the only reason I can visit Coronado is because my grandma lives here. I can't afford it otherwise. Also, my grandma is president of the Coronado Bridge and Bay Garden Club. They have a small float in the 4th of July parade and my sister and I have been marching as flamingos for three years in the parade.
