You can see the national monuments and memorials in any order that you want but I have a preferred order that works great for tours.

Is there a way to join a group tour? Our family of 4 will be there in August. We really don't need a private tour.
Having grown up in DC and seeing all of the memorials both day and night, I prefer seeing the Jefferson and then crossing the Ohio Drive Bridge to the MLK memorial during early evening. The lighting is stunning.
I recommend see the sunset from the Lincoln Memorial. And right after the sunset the sky is beautiful around the Lincoln. The sky turns pink. It’s beautiful. And if you can also go behind the Lincoln is the Potomac River I recommend walk in that area also too. There is a huge stairs that some local work out. The view is pretty.
Omg my mom was saying that she tried to do one of your tours but it was all ready full
I use Google Maps app that Rob recommended. Instead of seeing just 3 monuments, I made a route to see other interesting landmarks on the way. I can break it down between Upper Route, Lower Route, and West End Route.
This doesn't include seeing museums or art galleries along the way.
