As a family we are/were considering a trip to New York which for us living in Ireland is not an inexpensive trip considering air fare and accommodation and events. So naturally we looked to YouTube to get a 'heads-up' as it were so as not to be caught out with scams and get some advice on sites to see etc.
In this regard you make really excellent and to the point videos.
However having watched a few now I must admit to an interesting side-affect; I'm getting so stressed out about whether I could navigate through the underground, pay the right tips, avoid all the scams, and on and on, that now I don't really think I could handle a trip to New York! 🙂 Is it just me or is all this helpful info just making me want to stay put and stay home? 🙂
Great videos though – keep up the good work.
I live in New York, but the country part of it, and this video really helped me lol😂
Thank you so much for giving advice on getting out of the way in public. This is much needed for people to develop a greater sense of courtesy in public – not just in busy city centres.
Hi – just curious if you’re a native New Yorker ?
Just got back from NYC – Citi bikes were great. Found riding around town really easy and cheap.
It’s crazy New Yorkers themselves have to memorize where all the free restrooms are LMAOOOOO
You’re the best
I live in NJ and worked in NYC…driver, some of the best food is from those street vendors, The pretzels are the best, …make sure you get some mustard on the side., then try a hotdog, with the onion sauce..mmmmmm. Moondance Diner good place, and pizza all over the place it's pretty much all good, but if you do take a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge into Brooklyn, just beneath it is a place called Grimaldi's….best pizza I have had in NYC. When the Staten Island Ferry was taking cars, I would take it over to Staten Island cause i lived jut over the bridge from the southern most part of the island. Where the cars lined up there was a small pizza place, just under the front of the terminal, Ferry pizza, or battery park pizza, i can't recall the name but that was really good too.
Hahaha, the stair stop, Happens alot in NYC, but also in other places like in Europe, not only do people stop on stairways, they stand in them too, France is notorious for this , and french travelers, I've seen this in France, England, Ireland and Belgium. If they stop at the end of an escalator like the kid in France, I knocked him over, …..he thought i as able to back up able to back up, lol.
#1 I agree with very much so
this is a dumb video!! make up points!! mistake # 13 forget your socks!! mistake 14 forget to brush your teeths mistake, Who f care what New Yorkers are like
I used to live in Vegas and some things tourists shouldn't do in Vegas is even go off the strip for longer than a few hours, especially at night😂
Don’t make eye contact with anyone
Ground breaking inside info…. this guy is telling you to pee and check your train? I need this guidance every where in my life
This ia so lame…
Oh my god people hit a nerve when they stand there and don’t know what you want omg and my own family does it at times I can’t stress it enough people in line know exactly what they want and how they want it also people walk so damn slow omg plus New Yorkers will cuss you out if you do any of these things especially hold up a busy spot in the subway
Oh yeah places don’t have bathrooms unless you know your spots
5:50 What happened to Shrek? Did he get in a traffic accident?
Thanks Jon! You've helped me with my New York trip! Thanks for all good tips!
Thank you got your videos. Just coming back from New York from France and the only place we had problems with public transport was… Paris 😅. We found most New Yorkers friendly and helpful. Apart from one or two who were not so nice, which is fair enough.I found it easy to navigate through the city. The only problem is … now that I know New York better, I want to go back!
As so someone from New Zealand your tipping system is sooo confusing plus the amount of people and how busy everyone is makes my trip in a month terrifying. I think I’m just going to offend people, make them mad and get very lost. This video kinda confirms these fears a bit
We love you, John! You’re the best at New York vacation blogs. We love how you talk. ❤
That's the 1st time I hear an anglophone pronouncing 1200 $ "one thousand two hundread" instead of the confusing lazy "twelve hundread". When you mean 2000 you don't say "twenty hundread" or "twenty double O"
We booked the cheapest hotel room but failed to notice it was in queens. Biggest mistake i ever made. Almost got robbed at gun point. I got lucky because there was a cop there
Sorry dudes, you guys have to be born in NYC to be a New Yorker!
What are packing tips or bag tips for tourists in NYC?
The FIRST MISTAKE is to even GO to that giant TOILET.
Mistake #1: Going there.
