TOP 10 PLACES TO VISIT ON THE OREGON COAST GUIDE

I grew up on The Oregon Coast north of Cannon Beach and south of Astoria in one of the best beach towsn of Seaside, Oregon, and its easily one of my favorite places in the whole world and is home to some of the most dramatic and beautiful coasts on earth from the giant sand dunes to the offshore rock stacks – it has it all. Since I grew up in Seaside and Cannon Beach (northern), I figured I would make this travel guide for exploring the Oregon Coast is very special to me.

The Oregon Coast is part of the 7 wonders of Oregon, and even though I am biased, I think it’s the best one 😉 I’ve driven every mile of HWY 101 from California to Washington and I wish that I had explored more of every beach, rock stack hike along the Whole coastline, but I will travel Oregon for the rest of my life. There are many places to visit along the Oregon Coast, but so much conflicting information. This travel guide in 4K is an overview of my top 10 Places & Cities to visit along the whole Oregon Coast.

  1. I lived in Cannon Beach for a few years in the early 2000s and love returning for a visit whenever I can. All of these towns are great but CB will always have a special place in my heart. Gorgeous beach and scenery and lots of fun shops most of which don’t sell the usual tired tacky touristy stuff.

  2. Cannon beach was great 50 years ago. Now, I’ll pass. I sold a dumpy cabin there twenty years ago for a stupid amount of money. Now I just camp or hotel during my visits. Same with sleazside.🙄

  3. We live in Sutherlin more inland, but do enjoy Coast visits occasionally. I used to live at Lincoln City 90's working at Salishan Lodge-Gleneden Beach and this is an all day as an housekeeper job seeing Golf Balls flying job! I enjoyed living up River along the Siuslaw and picking Chantrell Mushrooms that grow abundantly in the forest. I also enjoyed working at the Ester Lee Motel that is right on the Beachfront.

  4. Like your choices, but there are so many more adventures to be had! Also- showing towns from north to south (or vice versa), would be helpful for tourists or road-trippers, so they don’t miss out. Nice work!

  5. I think you should visit every beach and coastal area in the entire cost of Oregon. However, there are no good motels anywhere north of the California and Oregon border. Period. If you can't afford the higher priced hotels on the coast, don't forget to pack your camping gear. You'll need it. Of course, it goes without saying (but I always say it anyway) Oregon State Parks are top notch…
