Miami to Key West Road Trip: 17 Stops Along the Florida Keys Scenic Highway

Key West is a stunning location for a long weekend trip in Southern Florida. At only a few hours drive from Miami, you can get there quickly, or you can take your time and stop at many different spots along the way. In this video we took the entire day to drive from Miami to Key West and stopped to feed the Tarpon, walk on 7 Mile Bridge, eat a Lobster Rueben and visit the Mile Marker 0 sign. Let me know what your favorite spot is along the drive in the comments.

  1. Loved your video. It was simple and so laid back with your dad "pops", that was so nice to do your trip and video with him. And, not a lot of face time, great more time on the Keys, where I have always wanted to go.

  2. I just loved watching this so much. Everything was so fun from beginning to end. I dream about visiting and even living in the Florida Keys. Your video is so great for those of us who are too busy or too far away to get there. It truly is a gem. Thank you for putting this all together. I also love all of the comments on here from the other viewers.

  3. We were just in Key West. We parked on the street and fed the digital meter (right beside our car) $55 for a few hours parking. On the way back, it started raining and my wipers came on. We saw a paper (which was a parking ticket) fly off in the wind. A few weeks later, a collection letter came to the house with a $60 ticket (no parking zone) and a $5 late fee because the fine was not paid in 10 days from issue. Complaints are only handled in-person, in court, in Key West. What a great way to treat visitors! Stay away from Key West – it’s just tourist trap. There’s better bars and restaurants, boating and beaches in the other Keys.

  4. I drove and flew all over Florida, but in 30 yrs, never made it to Miami or The Keys! My vacations included multiple stops from PA to Florida, and there is just so much to see and do. But I did make it to Hawaii, the Caribbean and Mexico.

  5. You really have the best (at least my favorite) travel videos. These are seriously worthy of being on television or the travel channel. I watch before bed most nights and it really helps me wind down mentally. Keep up the good work!

  6. I loved this video! I watched it before going on my road trip to Key West and did many of these stops: Robert is Here and History of Diving Museum were really cool

  7. Wow, the Key West tour is that never-ending maritime realm I always dreamed of in childhood after watching Jaws. It's on my top travel destinations list, and thanks for doing this video!
