  1. Plus, nobody is trying to get on an airplane these days. Coupled with the push to discourage "certain" tourists from coming to South Beach – I remember your commercials showing the very same people you are now deporting. It's a no for us. Keep your tired few blocks safe and enjoy what few dollars the wholesome families bring.

  2. Should have watched this before visiting last week! Ocean Drive restaurants look nice on the outside, but spending $18 for a few chips and guac?!! Never again! I still enjoy Miami and will be back soon!

  3. It's an organized swindle.

True story, I went there in 2017 with my girlfriend at the time, we go to Ocean drive, we want to have a drink (first night in Miami). To put it in context, we spoke English but not very well at the time. We sit down at a random bar, ask for two mojitos, and the waitress tells us no problem. We end up with 2 giant mojitos, so we tell her we wanted 2 regular mojitos (everywhere else on the planet when you ask for 2 mojitos, you get 2 regular mojitos or a least advise you if not), she apologizes and tells us it's too late and that they don't have any regular mojitos (ok maybe our mistake). She says sorry and asks if we want shots, we say yes (we're on vacation, we're here to have fun). End of story, we pay for 2 mojitos and 3 shots because she tells us the shots aren't complimentary and we misunderstood, $100 bill.

I've traveled quite a bit, but I've never felt as conned as I did in Miami. Lesson learned. Welcome to a “civilized” country.
