  1. Its a great thing that the water is cold bcs warm water attracts jellyfish and cold water forces them away, its good for tourists. I was on holiday in LA earlier this september and i loved it, the people were nice and everything was great. It was my first time in the US so people might be nice everywhere haha.

  2. It says this video was done 3 years ago. When I visited in September 2023, I turned on the local news in my hotel room and one of the first things they talked about was a stabbing in the subway. Definitely agree with that point about public transit.

  3. Don't go near the homeless encampment. Many of the homeless are unstable and may hurt you. LA is the camping capital of the world. A friend of mine who lives in the new apartment located adjacent to the Broad Art Museum was hit on his head just to steal his groceries. The Disney Concert Hall is also located around the corner. Under these venues is an underground street where the homeless also reside. Personally, I moved out of the apartment because I was annoyed of the homeless people using any corner of a building as a bathroom…reprehensible. Good luck and keep safe.

  4. If you are visiting America the first time- give LA a miss. Americana can be found in cities like Boston, NY and D.C. I made the mistake by visiting LA as my first city, I invested a lot of anxiety in travelling from point A to Z, always fearful of either missing connections or fearful of the rates I have to pay getting from all the connecting points. LA is big and the sights are average, unless Hollywood and Disney is your priority du jour. I say go to Boston, NY and D.C first because the Americana of your mindscapes are all withing walking distance, in LA be prepared to factor in alot more anxiety into transits.

  5. I relied in the buses wjen I was in the Hollywood area and it worked out fine. Outside of Hollywood the buses aren’t that reliable. But LA can be doable without a car.

  6. I live in LA. Definitely don't miss the Getty. Spend the extra $ for fast passes at Disney, Knotts, or Universal Studio. You may very well see celebrities in Beverly Hills. Don't bother them, it's not cool.

  7. The smoke is Cannabis wich is legal in California but i also have it as medicin here in Denmark so I wouldn't smoking it but grind it down and make Cannabis tea from it cus that last longer in your blood as a epilepsy hit and Cannabis do wonders for epilepsy

  8. Thing about famous people is it sounds a bit like London in that regard – you might see someone famous (or at least, well known in certain circles) if you stay here long enough. One time I was outside at a pub in Highgate with a friend who pointed out someone sat at a nearby table. And Highgate is a historic village which is now an affluent suburb, where lots of famous people live or have lived, most notably George Michael. But it's such a big city that you probably won't encounter them day to day! Also, all I have to say about the idea of the Olympics relying on a relatively sparse public transit network (at least compared to London and Paris) – good luck!

  9. If you are checking out Hollywood Blvd and see a star on the walk of fame, don’t lay or sit on the sidewalk to take pictures. The sidewalks are filthy, many have remnants of feces or urine. Sanitize your self if you touch the sidewalk.

  10. Born and raised LA. I'm not saying you will see celebrities if you go to these places but I've seen celebrities in the following places: Vince Vaughn at marmalade cafe the Grove, Chris Rock at the former pacific theater now amc theater at the Grove, Eugenio Derbez walking at the Grove, Adam Scott at the former pacific theater Americana at Glendale now an amc theater, Jordan Peele going down an escalor of the Americana in Glendale, Jay Leno doing an interview at the Americana at Glendale, Michael Richards performing at the west Hollywood laugh factory, Brad Pitt at formerly pacific theatres now regency theater in commerce (very unlikely to see a celebrity again at this location up to this date can't understand how Brad Pitt ended up there).

  11. Great video, he just forgot to talk about the weather. It’s going to be sunny. Bring a hat or cap with you otherwise you will look like shrimp and he knows about it. 😅

  12. Downtown L.A. is not packed full of sights? It is absolutely packed full of sights. You've got four iconic sites that have featured in literally hundreds of movies: the Bradbury Building, the Bonaventure Hotel, the Angel's Flight funicular, and L.A. City Hall. (For anyone who's a film buff, downtown L.A. is a major Mecca.) There's also Grand Central Market, the Last Bookstore, and a number of museums; plus you're just a few blocks away from Olvera Street, Chinatown, and Little Tokyo.

  13. Man been out here a month. A car is a problem. It’s really pretty houses are nice. Only issue too many people per house. And not enough parking because everyone in house has a car.
Food. Count on at least $20 a meal.
I’m just tired of people always being above and below me. But I have been going to hospital everyday.

  14. 2:50
    25 year transplant here.
    I HIGHLY disagree with this.
Los Angeles public transportation can easily be planned and routed via smartphone maps or Apps.

This will save you gas, parking cost and inconveniences, and even in some cases, time. You just have to plan like an adult vs just hopping in a car and playing traffic roulette.

  15. I was born in Redding & lived there with my family til I was 7 years old and we moved to the bay area. I've always considered Redding to be my home town as I still have family living there. We lived in the "Garden Tract" on Garden Ave and my grandmother lived around the corner on Gold Street. Life was much simpler in my early childhood & I have fond memories of my time there. I'm fortunate enough to be able to retire close by in beautiful Mount Shasta. Redding was kept as a retirement & recreational area on purpose instead of succumbing to large corporations & exponential growth. It has changed in many ways, but there is still a small town feel to it at its core.

  16. Went to LA for holiday, to see disney, universal was put in a hotel in the Thai quarter, wasn't even a decent restaurant their, worst place I ever stayed ,would NEVER go back there.

  17. LA native here. These tips are accurate but I have one thing to add: unless you are visiting loved ones, LA has nothing to offer other than high end designer shopping. If you’re not into that, you will be very disappointed that you came to visit.
