  1. That orange glow that looks like smog is not smog. That is smoke from California wild fires. We have had some big fires in our east county rural areas and also up in the LA area which with the wind direction will sometimes settle over San Diego

  2. I moved to LJ in Sept 2021. I'm still watching these kind of videos to learn and discover all I can visit in my little town. It's overwhelming how many spots I haven't visited yet. I can't feel like a local yet, as I'm still a neophyte on the area. I.e. randomly I visited he Conrad Prebys Concert Hall one day to watch a screening of Pixar's Coco, with a music live performance by the Mexico City Folkloric Orchestra. It was beyond epic!!! Then, another day, a Marisa Monte concert in the Epstein Family Amphitheater, and again, A Fred Armisen show. It might seem like a small town, but the resources poured into it are unbelievable. There's so much going on at all times in this little town that I just can't keep up! It's like something is happening every day on every block of the town. SO many places to visit, eat, shop… I love my town SO MUCH!

  3. Why did you mention that Black's Beach is the local unofficial nude beach? Back in the early 1990's my friends and I went there thinking we would see tons of naked chicks but it ended up being a sausage fest as it was mostly horny guys hoping to see naked women while the only naked women were older women I would have preferred not to see naked.

  4. You forgot; Smoke weed, drive around Mount Soledad, look for iconic homes with small front doors, swear you saw the midgets from The Wizard of Oz. I date myself perhaps. (Surf Blacks, and reefs as well)

  5. I got my license when I turned 16 and we drove down to La Jolla with my parents till this day I call it The Jolla. It's a running joke that my mom and I share. I have.
I photographed a Schindler place near Wind and Sea. I shot a Ken Kellogg house too. I still want to play Torrey Pines. It is one of my favorite places. It can be a little stuck in the 80's as far as architecture but I love it.

  6. DON'T see the seals up close. See them from above. If you get too close, you're breaking the law.

Somehow I'm only just NOW finding out The Lot is a cinema, even after delivering food from their a few times. I always assumed it was just a restaurant.

  7. Don't mean to scare people or bring any bad news, but La Jolla could be a huge landslide into the sea from the cliffside looking towards the sea.
I do hope there are checks into the stability of the land around the cliffsides and where instability is showing on the edges. Perhaps places we cannot see from above, but only underneath it all.
