  1. Don't drive to Sauslito unless you're mixing the trip with other things in Marin County. Catch the Saaalito ferry at the ferry building in San Francisco. The commuter ferry will give you wonderful views of the entire bay for less money than one of the commercial boats out of Fisherman's Wharf.

  2. Two places you might want to check out. First, inside San Francisco at the Presideo is the Walt Disney Family Museum. It is, as its name would suggest, run by the Disney Family, not corporate Disney. There you can see all of his Oscars and other awards, including his Presidential Medal of Freedom. My favorite was his special Oscar for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It features a full sized Oscar and 7 small ones. The museum is full of original drawings and memorabilia from his films and TV shows. The Presidio is one of the most beautiful areas of San Francisco.
If you like the comic Peanuts you will love the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. The grounds include the Museum where you can see many original drawings and memorabilia. Also, you can visit the beautiful ice skating rink built by Schulz and his first wife and have a mug of hot cocoa at the warm puppy cafe. Finally there is a large gift shop where you can get your Peanuts merch. From there you might want to take Hwy 29 to Sonoma. There are many great wineries and restaurants along the way. The town of Sonoma is has a square with a park at the center and lots of fun shops and restaurants surrounding it. A beautiful and relaxed area.

  3. Fabulous video and great recommendations! I grew up in the Bay Area and lived there for many years. While visits to Sausalito and Mill Valley are great, I would also recommend a drive to the top of Mt. Tamalpais. There is no better view of SF and the Bay than the one from the summit. AND, if you are so inclined, the many hiking trails on the mountain are unsurpassed.

  4. The floating homes in Sausalito are called "houseboats." The docks and homes are private and tourism is not welcome. Mt. Tamalpais is pronounced Tam-ul-pie-us. I was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin County and I still work in Marin County. This is an excellent video. Thank you.
