Would you say it’s a little easier than traveling the subway in Ny/Manhattan?
Also- how busy is late December in Metro?
Thanks so much for this video!
Keep in mind that if you’re reading this in late 2024 some information in this video is redundant.
SmarTrip cards (Metro cards) tend to fail and getting a refund from SmarTrip is a nightmare. Basically you’ve lost your money if your SmarTrip card fails. SmarTrip have zero after sales service and no shopfront to go to. Do not buy a 7 day pass. Only buy 3 day passes. If your SmarTrip card fails you’ll only lose what’s left on the card. DC metro is way more expensive than NYC and Chicago public transport. The DC Circulator has been discontinued as of late 2024.
Thank you for this, I found it really useful, my wife and me are going to DC the end of September 24.
Very informative-thank you!
My son is 4yo. I believe he rides the metro free. How to I get a card for him?
One thing worth mentioning. Some metro stations serve multiple lines, so don't assume that the next train arriving is the correct one. Check the electronic arrival board or the train itself to make sure it's going in the direction you need.
❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the video .Do the buses have screen inside to show the next stop?
The bus card will give discount off when you go from bus to Metro train.
Arent there any parking garages in DC?
Awesome detailed overview.
What are the restrooms facilities like?, I plan to visit with my wife that is expecting
When you say, go on either side of the tracks and you have to go on the correct side …how do you know which side to go on?
Nice video, thanks for the tips!
Can I ask you one thing?
We are going to spend just 1 day at DC. Our flight arrives at 7am at Dulles Airport, and we need to be back at the airport around 7 or 8pm.
I've booked a rental car to get to the National Mall and see the landmarks, because we are going to have our luggage to carry, and we are traveling with my 4-year-old kid. My plan is to park the car near the atractions using Spot Hero, and use the DC Circulator many times to optimeze our walking time as we have few time to see everything.
What do you think is the best strategy for us, regarding transportation? We want to see few landmarks, and maybe a quick visit to National Historic Museum
Really helpful info. Thanks so much!
Thank you for all this info! One question regarding the metro pass. You recommend loading it with $20. Is that per person?
Can’t wait for the October tour…
Such good info. Really looking forward to the Washington DC tour. Please keep me posted
