We’ll also venture into Lincoln Park Zoo, where we’ll be dazzled by the twinkling Zoo Lights and try some of the city’s best food, such as deep-dish pizza. 1. This was my introduction to Through My Lens. I live in Milwaukee, but I love Chicago. I've been to the windy city many times since I acquired my driver's license at sixteen. Way back then, I could park outside the city for $3 and walk in. Chicago is beautiful. The buildings are amazing. The smell of Garrett’s caramel corn up and down State Street was intoxicating. In fact, my mother would tell me not to come home without her caramel corn! I’d buy a large bag and she'd end up with half as I munched my way on the drive home. Your Christmas video includes all the best Chicago has to offer. What a great job! I recall being at the Lincoln Park Zoo over Christmas. One building was open – the large cat building – with a school choir to entertain the visitors. Next to the choir was the tiger enclosure with a huge tiger who was a music critic. Every time these kids started singing, the tiger would get up, pace and roar. They'd stop and he'd lay down and stay quiet. They'd start singing again and he was up pacing and roaring! He was my entertainment of the evening. Love this video and have discovered so many more. Wonderful job. Thank you.

  2. Wow! What a beautiful vlog. So informative… 9.5/10
    I want that stenky sandwich…
Safe Travels, Happy Holidays and thanks for taking us along ✌🏽

  3. I've enjoyed this video so much, I've watched it several times. Have a trip to Chicago coming up in early December. I think. I'm more excited about eating my way through Chicago than seeing all the sights. Thanks for some great info!

  4. You missed the Christmas movies at the Music Box Theater on Southport near Wrigley Field on the north side. You can watch either It's a Wonderful Life or White Christmas on the big screen. And there is a Christmas sing-along.

  5. What did you wear, if you don’t mind me asking?

Going for 48 hours in early December it’s gonna be like 30F at its highest.

I’ve never been anywhere that cold. I’ve got a merino wool hoodie, I’m thinking a thick merino long sleeve base layer, hiking pants, thick wool socks and a good beanie.

Is that a Patagonia puffer you’re wearing over your hoodie?

    Thanks!!

  6. There's also a regular skating rink on Michigan Avenue–free if you bring your own skates. I like the bratwurst at the German Market. Also, potato pancakes and fried potatoes.

  7. The next time you come through Chicago or you stayed in Chicago you need to go to the top of the Hancock building there's a tavern up there and you can sit right at the window looking out over the city would a cocktail of your choice

  8. I highly recommend Pequod’s for deep dish. Way better than the standard Giordano’s. I do not care for Lou Malnati’s. For downtown, Exchequer is pretty decent as well.

  9. Hey!! I finally made this trip for the Holidays. I enjoyed the Christmas Market as. The Christmas Around the World Holiday Lights + Griffin Museum was exceptional!!!

  10. What an amazing and detailed video, thank you! Going to Chicago for the first time in December, from L.A. and I think you covered it all. What a beautiful city. Hope I can see and do it all in 4 days. Happy Holidays!

    BRAVO TO U BOTH‼️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm afraid of heights, and I'm not sure if ur pops would stand out there⁉️⁉️🤔
However, amazing footage and just watching you both eating those Chicago Dog's, made me hungry‼️😁 Great video 👍👍
