Boston, the capital of Massachusetts, was founded in 1630 and played a crucial role in the American Revolution—and in shaping the country as we know it today. It’s a city of contrasts, where academia and a culture of innovation meet a deeply local Boston spirit. Harvard and MIT. Biotechnology and robotics. Intellectualism colliding with the Boston accent, neighborhood pride, and die-hard sports fans.

I have a list of over 25+ reasons to move to and live in Connecticut. May I list a few?
.5) Half of the US Navy's Submarines and 1/4 of the world's jet engines are made in Connecticut.
1.) History: Although vehemently denied by the Smithsonian, the TRUE FIRST IN FLIGHT honor goes to Gustave Whitehead who flew over 1/2 mile in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1901, 2 years before the Wright Brothers. There are plenty of investigative reports that bear this out, some are on YouTube, & the State of Connecticut legislated a special day honoring Gustave Whitehead for this achievement.
2.) Climate: Conn. has the stable range of all 4 seasons (without the danger you see on the news of some areas in the US) with beautiful foliage in the Autumn, try Route 7 up the Housatonic River, dotted with Covered bridges, restaurants and antique shops all the way to the Mass. border.
3.) Sports: 2 AHL Hockey Teams in Bridgeport & Hartford (newly renovated stadium), 2 Baseball Teams in Hartford and Norwich, CT. (Hartford Stadium described as best new stadium in MiLB). There are 4 ski Mountains in Conn., 4 NASCAR Racetracks including Lime Rock Speedway which is frequented by more than a few movie stars. There are over 170 Golf Courses in CT both public & private.
4.) Universities: Home of perennial NCAA National Champions UCONN & Quinnipiac, also Yale University in New Haven, CT now rated among the top 10 Universities IN THE WORLD. Connecticut also runs its own High School System that will teach your children a trade of their choice such as Nursing, Plumbing, Manufacturing, CAD design & more for FREE and help them qualify for a Professional License. How's that for a good start for any 18-year-old? This state-run High School System has its own campuses and sports teams.
5.) Vineyards: There are over 35 Vineyards in Conn., with award winning vintages. Some even have their own restaurants making you feel like you're in France!
6.) Military: CT is the home of the US Coast Guard in New London, CT and also a US Navy Submarine base in Groton, CT. BTW, you can tour a real Navy sub for free at this Naval base in Groton.
7.) More history: Capt. Kidd is noted as depositing his treasure on an island up the Connecticut River and along the Housatonic River near Stratford & Shelton, CT. Ancient history has a historical site called "Gungywamp" near Groton, CT and is said to date all the way to about 900 AD & is credited to ancient Celtic explorers.
8.) Travel: The are over 30 airports & airfields in Conn., some offering Regional and International flights.
9.) Zoos & Wildlife exhibits: There is Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport plus 2 Maritime Museums in Norwalk & Mystic, Connecticut, with live hands on exhibits. There are also smaller ones like at Hammonasset State Park along the Connecticut Coastline.
10.) Proximity: NYC & Boston are an easy drive from anywhere in CT (1-1/2 hrs. on average), so you can work, visit, and enjoy what they offer, but don't have to live in the middle of their overcrowding and resource starved cities.
11.) Agriculture: Connecticut is the largest producer in the US of Black Currents, not to mention still a regional powerhouse grower of apples, blueberries and even sunflowers.
12.) The 3 largest dairies in Connecticut – each with over 2,000 milk-producing cows are the major supplier of milk for the famous Cabot Cheese in every supermarket in the Northeast US & beyond.
13.) There are over 50 islands off the coast of Connecticut, called the Thimbles. You can tour these out of Branford, some have BnB homes you can stay in, another has a US Wildlife Lab you can tour with the Park Rangers and another has it's own lighthouse. 1 island even has the Summer White House of President Taft. Tour boats and water taxis are available to access them.
Very well done…enjoyed your video.
Love Boston however my journey here is over moving to Floripa Brazil 😁😎
Moved to Boston 1998 no English no paper work to legally be here and no money. Fast forward 2025 American citizen real estate investor self made multi millionaire. That’s how powerful this city
is ! 🇺🇸🫡❤️
Will forever live in heart thanks Boston for everything you gave me I will forever be grateful and will be back for visiting
Dunkin was founded not in Boston but Quincy Ma.
“nuts to butts"? Thats a very gay.
He code switched bc he was proper at first.
There are barely any apartments around Granary. It's mostly Suffolk University academic buildings.
Boston is so expensive. Other than that, it is a great city to live in.
Oh thank God for your video! I've been subscribed but I didn't know you covered Boston! All the videos I've seen are so boring! I know yours will be awesome as always!
I'm going to my friend's wedding in Worcester in March but plan to stay in Boston! I'm from Houston Texas so I'm looking forward to my first time in Boston! I've been to Vermont, DC and NYC 😊
Lol Eat a D! Why don't u show the real city Boston and the fucking decay all over the place. Only people that can afford to enjoy it now are yuppies who live very comfortably. Let's not talk about a single parent not being able to survive here without help from the government. You are very lucky to make 20 an hour here but a shit hole apartment is around 2,000 at its cheapest! Add that 20 an hour (if your lucky)up fucking before taxes! Lol nevermind after. and that's without the 400 to 600 dollar a month electric bill for tiny ass apartments this state has become a joke where the hard working people are barely getting by while everything is being handed out to people only coming here to take advantage of and could care less about the history of this state. They cut my grandmother's healthcare who's dying of cancer but hand out thousands in food stamps to the Afghan downstairs who have the best healthcare in the country for him and his 8 kids! While driving two Brand new cars and their rent is paid. They are asylum seekers but literally got on vacation back to the country they are seeking asylum from! Every few months it's fucking pathetic.
excellent video
Really like it.
I loved Boston when I visited back in 2024 so much culture and fun things to do. Love this video btw 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤
My friend Richard would tell me stories about Boston with the same vocal accent. Rip.
I don't miss my university years, at all. Not a lot of money, constant stress of needing to do homework and prepare for exams and fear of not making it to the next semester. Thank God I made it through. And now, with a masters degree in computer science, a proper job, salary and not having to do any hardcore exams anymore, I'm more independent and can do so much more.
Excellent
4:05 – "…a true New Englandah." She's learning.
Very small sample size, you just scratched the surface of Boston.
I love your channel, Dottie. You are so likable and exceptionally talented. Thank you.

It's really brick out. I gotta say, I never heard anyone say that. Also, have you heard the old statehouse is supposedly haunted, but whenever I delivered there, I never experienced anything.

Reminds me of Manchester, England, similar vibe 🙂
