13 Things to Know Before You Go, LAS VEGAS TRAVEL GUIDE

Everything YOU need to know before you travel to Las Vegas Nevada. Las Vegas is BIG, so is the Strip. Downtown Las Vegas is really far from the strip but the Freemont Street Experience is cool and it’s neat to see “old” Vegas. Don’t pick the cheapest hotels… You’ll regret that $25/night rate.

If you want to be in the “middle” stay around Caesars Palace. If you like “peace and quiet” pick a non-casino hotel. In the winter it can be really cold and windy! Bring a jacket Nov-Feb.
The casinos are always super cold… so bring a light jacket or sweater even in summer. Buffets are great, but just once a day. Twice a day is overdoing it!

  1. Yes I agree Star Trek Convention is biggest convention in United States which is held in August of every year. 2. Great videos, these are the information us normal folks need. Us that needs to plan everything ahead. Us that are nervous about traveling. Us that have anxiety. This is great for us. Thank you.

  3. We tried the monorail one time back in 2007. I remember walking and walking and walking all the way through the MGM to get to the back and i never thought we'd get there!! Once we did, there were hardly any people on it but it got us quickly to the hotel next yo ours.

  4. I don't recommend getting a rental car in Vegas. 1) Not only are you paying quite a bit for a daily rental, you are paying parking fees at every hotel – the one you're staying at and the ones you visit – every day of your vacation. 2) There's a lot of traffic on the strip, especially at night. Who needs the aggravation of sitting in traffic? Besides, it's much more fun riding in someone else's vehicle and being able to look around and view the beauty of Las Vegas! 3) The parking lots are WAY away from the main attractions. There's enough walking to do in Vegas. Don't add to it by having to walk to and from the lot over and over. 4) If you plan on being on the Strip only, there are better transportation options (cab, Uber, the Deuce bus, the monorails and trams).

    5) Time is valuable when going to Vegas. I think too much time is wasted shuttling back and forth from the airport to the rental car site to get and return your car. Plus, you would think the car is a big time saver. It's not. Transportation is readily available – right outside the front door. Also, if you add up the cost of using them, you will spend less than if you rent a car. 6) The only reason that makes sense to rent a car is if you're either making multiple trips to downtown or you want to visit things like the Grand Canyon, the Red Rock casino, legalized brothels (yes many guys go to them) or other places further away from the Strip.

One last tip: if you MUST rent a car, there are car rental locations ON the strip itself – like at Treasure Island. Easy pickup and return. If I'm staying a week in Vegas, I might get a rental car for a day or two to get to places further away. You don't really need one the whole week. There are so many things to do, you won't want to waste a lot of energy on the hassles of car rental.

  5. Just had the Bachanal Buffet the other day! So great and we lucked out that they didn't enforce the 1.5 hour limit with us. We were there closer to 2.5 hours. And that roast pork in the Chinese section is Filipino style lechon! I was happy they had a little Filipino section there but there was a ton of great food!

  6. Thanks for sharing this! I have used your tips for LV, Hawaii, Singapore & they come in handy when my wife, me, and my mini me travel! Hope to run into you one of these days & tap on some extra tips as well!
