July in downtown SF is actuality considerably cooler than many cities much further north like Seattle, Vancouver etc due to the cold ocean current. Heck the coast all along California is cool for its latitude…like downtown San Diego is similar to Portland, Maine.

There is a difference between the shore, the seaside, the coast, and the beach. As a SoCal native, I confirm SD beaches are way better than SF's coast.
