We lived about 30 minutes outside the City for over 30 years before we moved for a lower cost of living. We also lived about 20 minutes from Sonoma and 45 minutes from Napa. You got to all the good places.Glad you enjoyed them.
This s s better than most SF rundowns. I also like how you don’t have a cheerleader voice; thanks! Something you didn’t mention is never leave anything in your car. Smash and grab is epidemic in those places you showed; especially Twin Peaks & Palace of Fine Arts. If you’re waiting for check in time drop your luggage off at the hotel for them to hold. Well worth it! Take the Hyde Street Cable Car for the best views. Sit in the back so you can look k downhill. Buy a daily pass for unlimited rides. When in Sonoma wander around downtown. They have excellent cooking supplies as well as wine and good meats. Have a midday charcuterie at that local market/ restaurant. Bring back some cheese and wine to enjoy in your room later on
This in USA
I live close by. I know SF VERY WELL. I must know over 30 or 40 people who live and have lived there. Perhaps 7 or 8 still live there. They are VERY well off financially. I've visited hundreds of times. You really have to WANT to live in the city (as we call it). It is ridiculously expensive. If you own a car and have lived there any length of time there is a better than 50/50 chance your vehicle is going to be either broken into or stolen outright. I will NOT drive in SF and park unless I can park in a secure parking facility. Yes as a tourist it might be an interesting place to visit. But beware, this is a very dangerous place if you do not know where to go. Quite frankly be aware when you are visiting! And if you are a woman, absolutely do not go there alone.
I'll be there soon. After back and forth between Chinatown, Haight Ashbury, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, I chose Hotel Zoe Fisherman's Wharf. I hope I have made the right choice.
We stayed at the Alton in August on your recommendation and it was fabulous. One of our favourite hotels in the USA (Bellagio, Hollywood Roosevelt and Cavalier Oceanfront (San Simeon) being the others
The hotels you featured cost more than I can budget for an entire vacation. Yikes!
I’ve lived here in SF for 20 years and I wake up every day I wake up and think, “I can’t believe I’m so lucky to live here.” I live in a 1908 Victorian on the cable car line. And yes, even locals love the cable cars and the Golden Gate Bridge.
SF is lovely. I've enjoyed visiting in the past.
Sadly… Not visiting the USA anytime soon ( maybe never again!)
A beautiful city, but be aware of smash & grabs!! We not only witnessed one at the painted ladies, but were a victim of one too with our rental car at north beach. They stole my son’s and daughter’s book bags out of the back window. The real loss was a memento from her dad that was irreplaceable 😢Police had the license number and did nothing. 😡NEVER again
I was waiting for the Palace of Fine Arts. Next time: Presidio (including parade ground food trucks, tunnel tops, Officers’ Club museum, and cemetery) and Legion of Honor with hike to Cliff House behind it. And the Lyon Street steps. And… no more locals’ secrets 😉
I went there almost 20 years ago with my son. We only had the one day, so we went to Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli, and the fortune cookie shop in Chinatown. I wish we could've stayed longer, but we were with other family members who weren't very adventurous!
San francisco🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Ice officer Jose Chavez of Sauramento legalized thousands of migrants from Mexico for money.
I love this city ❤️❤️❤️
Aly and Chris, fantastic job, as usual. You make me want to back to San Francisco! The "aggressively napping" sea lions made me chuckle. Loved all of your suggestions. I look forward to all your videos!
The semi private/hidden rooftop gardens.
