Have been there. It is worth the visit . Its also free . It was one of my high light while visiting California. Highly recommend it ! At lot of history there.

Yeah. The walk is bad 😂 I mean $10 to park along side the road isn’t bad. But if you have kids. Prepare to hear complaints on the walk up. It’s at least 3 quarters of a mile depending where on the mountain you park. I do agree with the top parking lot. Don’t even bother, it gets filled up quick. Still a very cool experience.

If you go in summer, the grass and pine trees, (along the walk) smell amazing
Next time, take the DASH bus that goes right to the Observatory; it’s free, empty & you don’t have to park or sit in traffic. Easy, use Google/Apple maps for the schedule at the stop you choose to board & when you’re ready yo be picked up to go home.
