7 years ago I was at Pike Place think how expensive things were 7 years ago
Born and raised in Washington, we don't use umbrellas, so we spot tourists quickly, but we love tourists. That seattle freeze thing is new. It was never like that, but give washitonians a sec, and we thaw out lol. I would say learn about native american culture. It's a big part of our state and the Pacific Northwest.
Years ago I used to be a waitress; and I feel your pain on being made to have an automatic tip.
When I was a waitress, the government automatically calculated how much food I sold each day and then assumed I got a tip at every table. Then the government charged me taxes based on that. If there was no tip I actually had to PAY to serve that table!
I used to cry because I live near Mexico; and they would fill up our restaurant each day. The tip amount was small (I am talking they were tipping change on a $100.00 bill). The government assumed I got a $20.00 tip so it cost me in the end.
If anyone is still braving Seattle in 2025, be sure to check out the Seattle Underground tour. Best activity in Seattle, imo.

That’s not true. The places where many people LIVE in the PNW are rainy (Seattle, Eugene, Portland, Medford, Vancouver, etc.) but as soon as you go east, you’ll get a ton of sun.
Check out Bend, OR which is known for 300 days of sunshine a year
Just want to say that yes while Seattle is rainy, we actually get a lot more sun than most people think. If you come between May and August the weather can actually be really sunny and beautiful. There's nothing more gorgeous than Seattle on a sunny day! 🌊☀️ Also, in the towns east of Seattle there is a large middle eastern community, and LOTS of amazing food and free festivals over there!
I've enjoyed your Italy videos, so I was surprised to find a piece on my town. Not bad. A brief visit to Pike Place Market is fun, but don't eat or drink there! Very pricey. Go to Ballard for beer: there are a TON of micro brews of all sorts, and great walks along Salmon Bay and the canal. The Ballard Locks are a nice visit, and so is the drive further west to Golden Gardens for a picnic. Sounds like you went to Fremont, that's fun too. If you're up at Kerry Park, look for a place to eat on Queen Anne Avenue up there just around the corner. I've counted nearly 30 places you can sit down and have something at all price points. It's easy to get to Snoqualmie Falls east of Seattle, really beautiful (Google it). Capitol Hill is great for the boho vibe, especially for the young and hip. You'll need a car, but Alki Point in West Seattle has great views and there's a lot of eateries and drinkeries.
walter
Seattle or Washington state in general is a place like a chicken pretending to be a swan.
I see just as much homeless in Dallas and I smell pot MORE around Dallas too. These things are in every city now.
Broh Walter seems like a chill ass dood. Thanks for making great vids brother.
As a very long time local, I wish tourist info would emphasize that Pike Place market isn’t just a tourist destination, but an actual market where people who live in the city do their grocery shopping. We have large numbers of tourists and visitors who don’t seem to be aware of this and block all the walkways, vendor doorways, etc. , setup photos in the middle of the street. imagine that at your local shopping market. One reason Seattleites can be rude to tourists is because of the large amount of visitors, esp here for cruises to Alaska, who appear to be disrespectful to those of us who live in the city. It’s not a theme park. People who live here just want to get through their day. We can be helpful and friendly, but that is harder if you’re rude, blocking entrances, pushy, taking up the whole sidewalk.
> automatic gratuity
> piroshky piroshky
Just FYI, as a Seattleite, and watching this video 5 years after it was made, regarding the gratuity thing… back in 2018, the minimum wage was around $12. Not a livable wage for Seattle, so they’d add the gratuity charge. Now, our minimum wage is a lot higher. I haven’t witnessed a gratuity charge unless you are a large party table.
Also, the homeless and drug users in Seattle are still terrible and you may run into some really gross things on the streets. Just be aware.
I like that smell
20% should be automatically added in most places imo. People really be spending 200$ on dinners and tip 3$. The audacity…
Another Great video – Seattle looks an amazing city.
It will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomarra than it will be for Seattle on the day of judgment. I used to live in California but you Seattleites are very wicked. I see it all go down. You let dogs take over your town and made it the bum nation into God. You are the blind leading the blind. Why am I hated in Seattle but loved in Idaho and Montana?
Seattleites dislike me so much. I have lived in this city for 14 years. I grew up in King county since 1972. I have seen all of it go down. People will probably make me their scapegoat and martyr me.
I'm going to let everyone in on a little secret. Tacoma is a city about 30-40 miles south of Seattle and has the second most museums per capita behind Washington D.C. in the U.S. It also has the second largest urban park behind Central Park in the U.S. It's a relatively cheaper and smaller city compared to Seattle. The main Chihuly glass museum is located in downtown Tacoma, too
I am from a nearby city and I have 1 don't for you when visiting washington, which is don't think that washington is just seattle! There are so many other cities and places worth visiting besides seattle (even though there's lots to do in and near Seattle)
My birthplace that I need to know more about. Thank you, sir! 👍🏾
Seattle is a city full of closet sociopaths. People come off as "polite" and "nice" but it's all a mask and most people of the pacific northwest are very selfish, tribal, manipulative sort of people. It's a different vibe up there.
Thank you for pronouncing Pike Place Market correctly. I have worked there for almost 12 years and can't stand it when people say 'Pikes Place'. And BTW… Miami Florida gets more annual rainfall than we do
Summertime it rarely rains.
Can’t wait to come n smell dat weeeed n go to space needle
Wonderful review. It’s nice to see the city from a visitors perspective. I never lived in Seattle but worked there for a few years commuting back and forth just a town outside of Seattle. I often would hang out in Seattle with coworkers or friends who lived in the city so I almost felt like I kind of lived there, lol. Personally, Seattle is one of my fav cities. Things are getting overpriced and crowded now since so many people are moving in the area and there’s so much development going on but I would like to add that what I really admire about Seattle as a city is the overall feeling of safety and the cleanliness (except the gum wall 😂).
This "City" is OVERRATED, is truly Not Worth it; Save Your Money – is a Soulless City. I highly DO NOT Recommend it.
