Join me on a dash around Seattle, Washington on my short stopover. I’ll visit a cool market, eat a very American breakfast, visit the original Starbucks coffee shop, ride a monorail above the streets of downtown and head to the top of the city’s 1960s Googie masterpiece. Not bad for a cold, damp November day!

Hi, I’m Steve, a travel reviewer from Scotland. Join me on my adventures as I discover my own country, often visiting places for the first time, so hopefully it’s as much of an eye-opener for you as it is for me! Don’t expect expert opinion, just a very honest journey of discovery. Sometimes featuring my intrepid sidekick Alicja, sometimes featuring adventures beyond the borders of Scotland. Enjoy!

Only film I ever saw about Seattle was Sleepless in. This was tons more revealing. Thanks Steve
13:41 monorail
Welcome to Seattle. There really is a lot more to see and do. Especially if you can get out of the city and into the mountains.
Gum Wall ya edjit! Do you do no research?
Was this the trip where Filson was acquired?
Awesome video once again Steve, the monorail is awesome as well as the Needle, not been to Seattle but maybe one day, thanks again 😀
NICE HAT!
The market, yes. The pointy thing, if you have to. The monorail is a miss, unless you really need to use it to get to or from the Space Needle. It has two stations (both terminal) and is less than one mile in length. I'd recommend walking from the market through Belltown to the Needle. Great Steve. Years ago we did the Alaska cruise but from Vancouver. Hope we can do Seattle in the future. We love traveling with you and Alicja and enjoyed bumping into you both on QM2 . 👏👍
Scones with bacon. Sounds lovely🥓🥓😊
Steve you are just amazing the footage you give us you must work so hard for us to see thank you so much for your hard work❤❤
You really love those gray skies😊
Just missed you in Seattle last week my husband and I were there headed to Cancun tomorrow. Maybe you can do that one lol
Thanks for sharing! Fun to see the market, monorail, and space needle, the chewing gum alley a bit gross. Check out the Alaska Marine highway system for ferries that leave from Bellingham, WA. Headed north. Might be a good trip for you. Or the Amtrak journey south to LA along the coast.
I love everything about this trip you took.. come to Nashville sometime.. direct from Dublin and London now
.I'll give you some great spots and can probably put you guys up at an Airbnb I run
The biggest city in Oregon, Idaho,, and Montana. Maybe BC, but that's controversial.
Great tour. As always.
Steve, never a good coffee at Starbucks, bad and expensive…
Brings back happy memories of my trip to Seattle and the PNW in 2015.
I loved the way the Space Needle and monorail are 1960's visions of the 21st century frozen in time.
Thanks.
There’s an identical monorail system serving parts of Kuala Lumpur. Don’t forget the MLS Seattle Sounders football (saacker) team.
July 2025 I bought a $290 round trip airfare from Seattle to Dublin on Aer Lingus. Try again Steve and I’ll show you around. PS I’m from a city you’re very familiar with – Belfast.
My favorite restaurant is on the waterfront bits called * the crab pot* and the most unique shop I've ever been to is also. They have unique gifts, creatures and even mummies! The at shop is called * ye olde curiosity shoppe*
I've lived 40 mi south of Seattle (Puyallup) for nearly my entire life. Of course visiting Seattle many times for entertainment and business. I enjoy the views of an "experienced tourist" such as yourself. The masks are a reminder of the pandemic of course, but still worn by personal choice by many in the Seattle area; not so much out of the area. You've done the region and the people proud– despite the less than pleasant side of any large urban US city. Thank you.
I'm a fan from Washington! Steve, PLEASE come visit my town of Port Angeles and take the COHO ferry to Victoria ❤ it's a CLASSIC
We have a saying here, "I believe in ferries!"
I'm so glad you made it to Seattle! Where were you in route to? I moved to the east coast a year ago after 25 years on Bainbridge Island / various Seattle neighborhoods. I miss it terribly – especially the coffee – the best is at Monorail Espresso – a hole in the wall of Seattle's 1st movie theatre (now a Banana Republic) a few blocks up from the Monorail stop. I recently found your videos while pining for international travel when I can't be at my beloved Seattle. Sorry The Mountain didn't come out for you during your brief visit.
Looks like you had a great day, despite the rain. I will have to check out the biscuit place, that was new to me. Also you mentioned the Mariners and Seahawks. The other two teams who play in the stadium are Seattle Sounders (men's soccer/football) and Seattle Reign (women's soccer/football).
TRY THE CN TOWER IN TORONTO 😂🤪
As a lifelong Seattle native please don’t waste a minute of your time on the monorail. No one in Seattle even pays attention to that thing, it’s absolutely useless. See the Fremont Troll, Gasworks Park, The library at UW and Aladdin’s Gyrocery gory a gyro!
I couldn’t even have gone up in that glass lift…I’d have been a quivering wreck 😂😂 Great views though from the top.
