  1. The Vessel is free to walk into the building but for climbing to the top it is only free for NY Residents on Thursdays if you sign up through their link with proof of your NY ID. For the general population, to climb to the top of Vessel, it is $10 per person with a $2 processing fee if you book online.

  2. I love Governor's Island mainly because it's peaceful and quiet – away from the horn honking on the city streets. Lot's to see on that island with much history, and much to see and do. The northern part of the island is considered a national park. Fun fact – the southern 2/3 of the island is all landfill that was added when they bore out the tunnels for the subways over 100 years ago.

  3. I was born and raised in NYC . Rode the ferry many times. It was a cheap date at times. Train travel, one always needed to be aware of one's surroundings. Times Square, the crossroads of the world . Awareness is the key. Don't walk around with your head in the clouds acting like a TOURIST even if you are one. Prices for food in Times Square is expensive one should expect that. The ferry and times Square are ✔️ ✅️ mark locations. I go home often and go to these places to reminence if you will. Brooklyn, Queens,Bronx and Manhattan (the city) in native language.

  4. I am glad you mentioned the proper etiquette at the 9/11 Memorial. The last time I was in NYC was shortly after it opened, and it was very upsetting how many tourists were blatantly disrespectful. I also visited the Pentagon memorial a couple years ago, and thankfully I was almost entirely alone that time.

  5. oh, and about free museums – rich have memberships and when they go, only members can go, so they are not bothered by you- bigots! Oww, they make up for you – give you ONE free day, no, not a day- few hours- so you are standing in a line all day and then ENJOY museum with bunch of poor idiots like you, which mostly are there only because it's free and check box! Very enjoyable. And I wonder what free show tickets is she talking about?! No broadway shows have discounted and free tickets. Lincoln center has student tickets. But if you want to take your 5yo on ballet, you pay full price! Same for other linconl center shows. No discounts for kids.

  6. these attractions are for the lowest class, stupid americans that are considered to be servants and working class… you work your ass off and rich throws this from their table. Go, search how they spend their time and how their kids are entertained, educated and traveled.
