Boston is a huge, historic, renowned city. Not only is it the birthplace of the American Revolution, but this old town is known to be home to a lot of America’s firsts including the Nation’s first subway!
Come with us on this tour of Boston, see how we got around all weekend, and spend a day or two with us to see what there is to do in Boston

The Freedom Trail is the best way to start any sightseeing in Boston. This self-guided tour is a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burying grounds, parks, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond. It starts around Paul Revere’s house and ends nearly two miles away at the USS Constitution. The trail is marked by cobblestone along the road. You can’t miss it!
You can certainly drive around Boston, and we wish you luck, but the EASIEST way around the town is using the T. The T is Boston’s subway line that will take you anywhere you need to go, and it’s pretty easy to understand which stop and which train you need to take. During peak hours trains run something like every 15 mins. You can buy a CharlieTicket at any station terminal. We broke down the cost of how many trains we took to get around, and found it was convenient for us to buy an unlimited 7-day pass for $20 bucks. If you plan on seeing a lot of Boston I’d consider getting the 7-day pass. It won’t break the bank and will cost you less than paying for parking, finding an Uber, or paying for individual MBTA rides.
The Underground at Ink Block is somewhat of a new neighborhood in Boston, Ma. The block is a transformation of an 8-acre underpass located between Boston’s South End and South Boston neighborhoods (right under the highway overpass). Here you’ll find amazing street art, bike and walking trails, dog parks, etc. And you can use the T to get here. In hindsight, it would have been fun to show how we got around with an interactive map or something.
Fenway Park is home to the Boston Red Sox, and one of the oldest baseball stadiums in America. If you’re a baseball fan or even just a passionate sports fan, this should be a stop on your list. The stadium still has the same seats from when the ballpark first opened. You can go on a tour of the park at any time except on game day.
Boston Common is one of the oldest, and largest city parks in the U.S. as well, and Public Garden is just a short walk across the street. You find some really well-sculpted statues and monuments throughout each location. Boston Common is a melting pot of the city’s culture so you see some interesting things happen here.
