  1. Being a MA native the moment someone asks where your from and you say MA the first thing they say is oh you must be from Boston lol. Everyone acts like Boston is the only city/town in the state.

  2. I moved to Western mass in 2012 and have only been to boston about 6 times. Not much desire to go there as we have a thriving cultural scene in the northampton area, much less traffic, and Easy access to nature. and it’s true that people long ago set a precedent of mispronouncing cities which is now rampant. how worcester became woosta i’ll never know.

  3. I'd really recommend this place called Plimoth Plantation if you're here for history it's like an interactive experience in which you can see what life was like back when the pilgrims came in 1620 they have replicas of the houses from back then, a replica of the Mayflower, replicas of native american huts, and even actors that play both native americans and pilgrims it really is amazing.

  4. This was so accurate! Much better than most of these videos. And thank you for plugging Western Mass! I'm a Bostonian but like a lot of us I went to college out there, so I try not to forget that there's life outside of 128.

  5. Just a couple of things. It's Wuh-ster not woo-ster. Not everybody loves Dunkin' Donuts. It's OK to insult it. Driving in the Boston area can be OK except for the traffic but in Boston itself? Don't even think of driving a car there if you're not familiar with the city. Winding streets. One-way streets. Poor signage is legendary. Lots of street people in some areas of Boston Common and nearby Downtown Crossing.

  6. Who’d want to go here given the corruption and the disgusting treatment of Karen Read. I don’t care what it has going for it. Given the treatment of this lady by law enforcement and now subsequently, clearly this could happen to anyone. So I’ll pass thanks.

  7. In terms of pronouncing things dont worry about it. Ive lived in Worcester my whole life. if you mis pronounce something people WILL still understand what your trying to say

  8. Clam strips??? No native of Massachusetts (I'm from Lowell) would ever eat clam strips. Clam strips (frozen) are what other states and countries serve and call fried clams, but unless you get the whole clam, with the belly (where all the flavor is), you are not eating fried clams.. The best fried clams are on Cape Cod or in the coastal towns. I don't know if Kelley's is still operating in Hampton Beach but it used to have, for my money, the best fried clams in New England.
