As a MA resident for most of my life, about half of this guy's recommendations, for the most part, are not for people looking for an authentic, resident type of experience. Most of these are tourist traps. Examples: Quincy Market is just a food court like you can find in any mall. The Tea Party ship is just a replica. Barking Crap is another tourist trap that has been closed many times for sanitation problems. Fan Pier Park and Fenway are both must sees. The Boston Common and Public Garden are beautiful. Freedom Trail is good – easy to follow, takes a few hours on foot. North End is OK. Not quite as Italian as its reputation would have you believe and overpriced. A nice harbor ride IS a very nice way to close a trip. Black Rose is quite touristy.
