When I was young Dc was me and my friends play ground. I ran around in the capital an no one said anything to us.We rode the little subway from the capital to the House of Representatives and so much more ,we walked to the top of the Washington Monument and did so much more.
The National Mall is between the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument is Constitution Gardens.
Cherry trees are the best.

Watching this video so late but please stand on the right!! Also branch out from the national mall! There are great restaurants and hotels outside the main attractions!
Food definitely expensive, but it is good (except cafeteria s in the museum s) , shoes super important. 3 miles a day walking is common.

Folks that talk about the high prices of NYC & WDC haven't been to WDW or any other major vacation town. They're as expensive or even more. Nothing shocking about it

I traveled to DC back in September and you are right, the National Mall is dead at night. I was at the Capitol around 8:30pm one evening and I could not believe how dead it was. I had a very hard time finding an Uber ride.
I am still seeing Buddhist monks around the metro stations in Washington DC, they are persistent, that's for sure. I am grateful that their fate is holding these signs of the Buddha marked with information on wisdom of ultimate reality causing happiness based on truths.
It is attracting good energy. There have not always been this many real Buddhist monks in this area.
I was in D. C. on Memorial Day Weekend this year and really enjoyed it. Even though I´m not American, I´m probably the biggest patriot ever. Besides that, I really enjoyed the city and found it extremely easy to get around. And speaking of friendliness: go to Philadelphia, THAT´s a city with unfriendly people. Oh, and Williamsburg offends my knowledge of history. Almost everything here is a lie and a life is romanticized that never existed.

Booked our tickets for the holocaust museum later today at 3pm and were pretty stoked to see some somber stuff.
Don't worry about Washingtonians. They have some of the highest paid jobs in the country. That's why they are there.
I agree with you about the summer; first time I went to DC was in August of 2022, and it was 90+ degrees every day. But I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly I learned to navigate around the city via the Metro! One of the best public transport systems I've experienced!
